Runners are encouraged to join even if you don't want to run a race. The Distance Training Program includes a detailed, daily training schedule developed by experienced, certified coaches and group training twice per week (Wednesday 6 pm & Saturday 6 am). Cost for the 16-week program is $100. (Does NOT include race entry.) The first group run is Saturday, July 24 at 6 a.m. from Fleet Feet. | | Phoenix Rock & Roll Half Marathon Training Group Added to Lineup |  | | Fleet Feet Tucson is pleased to announce that it is adding a new Fall Distance Training Program in support of the January 2011 Rock & Roll Half Marathon. More details to come in a future Fleet Feet newsletter. | | Fleet Feet's Running 201 (10K) Training Program Starts August 2 |  | | Our Saucony-sponsored Running 201 will start a new session on Monday, Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. The program targets people who are currently running 2-3 miles, and would like to be able to build to 6-7 miles. The key to building mileage and endurance is to do it gradually, allowing your body to adapt to new levels of impact. Cost for this program is $100 and includes a 16-week training plan, tech shirt, educational clinics, experienced coaches, etc. (Includes race entry.) | | Fleet Feet's Beginning (5K) Running Program Starts August 24 or 26 |  | | On Tuesday, August 24 or Thursday, August 26, Fleet Feet Sports is kicking off two sessions of the New Balance No Boundaries 5K program. Participants will belong to one of the two groups: Tuesday will meet on the East side, and Thursday will meet on the West side. This 12-week training program is designed for people of all ages and fitness levels who want to gradually ease into running. Our program incorporates a run/walk technique to allow the body to adapt to new levels of exercise. The atmosphere is supportive, non-competitive and fun. Cost for this program is $100 and includes a daily training plan, tech shirt, educational clinics, experienced coaches, etc. (Includes race entry.) The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training program is currently recruiting training teams for P. F. Chang's Rock N Roll Marathon and Half-Marathon, El Tour de Tucson and Blue Water Triathlon. It is ideally suited for individuals who have always wanted to do a triathlon or who want to extend their knowledge and experience with the sport. Participants will train with a goal of participating in a sprint- distance triathlon in October. No previous experience in the sport of triathlon is required. Instruction will include a combination of lectures, clinics, and group training opportunities in the pool, on the road/track, and on the bike. Graduates of past TRI-FIT programs plus people having previous experience in one or more of the three sports can benefit from receiving workout schedule adjustments that take into consideration their current level of fitness. The Tri-Fit Program is coached by Fred Scott of Full Spectrum Sports (www.fullspectrumsports.com ). Fred is a USA Triathlon Certified Coach and Certified Personal Trainer and brings a wealth of knowledge to the program from his training and racing experience with all triathlon distances.
