Fleet Feet's Tri-Fit Program, sponsored by Pearl Izumi, is a group triathlon training program designed for people looking to build or extend their foundation of fitness through swimming, biking and running. The program is ideally suited for individuals who have always wanted to do a triathlon or those who want to expand their knowledge and experience with the sport.
The 2012 TRI-FIT program will kick-off its first training series of the year January 17 and January 19 with a 9-week training program offered at two development levels: TRI-FIT 1.0 and TRI-FIT 2.0. Before signing up, participants should review the features and costs of each and decide which level best suits their interests, goals and abilities. Please visit Fleet Feet's website for detailed information and registration forms.
The Tri-Fit Program is coached by Fred Scott of Full Spectrum Sports. Fred is a USA Triathlon Certified Coach and Certified Personal Trainer and brings a wealth of knowledge to the program from his training and racing experience with all triathlon distances. Running 201
Fleet Feet's Running 201 program will start a new session on Monday, January 9 at 6 p.m. The group will meet once weekly at various locations around the east side of town. The program targets people who currently run 2-3 miles, and would like to increase to 6-7 miles. The key to building mileage and endurance is to do it gradually, allowing your body to adapt to new levels of impact. Cost for this 17-week program is $100 and includes a technical training shirt, educational clinics, experienced coaches, and a weekly training program. Your program fee includes race entry fee for the Cinco de Mayo 10K on May 6.
Marathon
Are you ready for the challenge of the Marathon? Our Spring Marathon Program is right for you if you currently run/walk at least three times a week with a long run of at least 6 miles, enjoy meeting new people, and would like guidance and motivation to help you achieve your goal. Geared toward the Rock n' Roll Marathon in San Diego on June 3, the program starts Saturday, January 21 at Fleet Feet. For a program cost of $125 you will receive a 19-week training schedule, coached group long-runs Saturday mornings and Wednesday evening track workouts (usually meeting at Sahuaro High School), and a technical training shirt.
For more information on both of these great training opportunities, please visit fleetfeettucson.com or contact Jeanne at jeanne@fleetfeettucson.com.

YOUR FAVORITE STORE IS TOP 50 (AGAIN)!
| |
Fleet Feet Tucson has been named one of the Top 50 running stores in America by Competitor Magazine for an unprecedented sixth year in a row.
The process of compiling a list of the top 50 running shops in the country began early in 2011 when Formula4Media, LLC with the help of Competitor Magazine, began to collect and evaluate nominations on over 1,000 stores across the country. After nominated stores passed the initial review phase, a panel of industry experts from Franklin Resource Group visited the remaining stores to evaluate them on 20 different aspects of retail, including product knowledge, environment and community involvement.
Not only did Fleet Feet Tucson take its place among the country's elite retailers for the sixth consecutive year, Fleet Feet still remains the only store in Arizona to be recognized by a panel of industry experts for its outstanding service and community support.
