Our commitment to excellent service was rewarded recently when Fleet Feet Tucson was named as one of the Best Running Stores In America.  The 50 Best Running Stores were selected after a year of research and reporting that included feedback from more than 1,000 consumers and input from a team of store "raters" from the Franklin Resource Group, the sports industry's
leading in-store merchandising company.  More than 200 stores were ranked on 20 aspects of the visit, from a prompt greeting to being thanked for the purchase. Stores were also rated on product knowledge, environment and community involvement.

But, all you really need to know before coming into Fleet Feet Tucson is that we are here to serve you.  So, whether you're walking, running, training, working out in the gym, or just want to be comfortable in your daily life, we're here for you.

Pete and Jeanne Snell, Fleet Feet Tucson owners, take pride in our commitment to provide outstanding customer service for every customer, every day.  Talk to us, tell us what will make a difference in your efforts to be active, and we will do our very best to meet your needs.  Stop in and let Pete, Jeanne and our outstanding staff help YOU run, walk and live a better life.

petePete Snell, Owner
Opening Fleet Feet Tucson was the realization of Pete's lifelong dream to own a business centered on helping people achieve their fitness goals. Whether it's running the roads and trails or competing in a triathlon, Pete is excited about sharing his passion for healthy living with the Tucson community. As a small business owner for the past 20 years, Pete understands how to make each individual customer's visit to Fleet Feet Tucson special. He treats everyone the same - like family! As RRCA certified distance coaches, Pete and his wife, Jeanne, lead the multiple training groups offered by Fleet Feet Tucson. When you stop by, ask for Pete, and let him know what YOU need to run, walk, and live a better life.
jeanneJeanne Snell, Owner
It's never been an option for Jeanne not to run. Next to her two boys--Zach and Kyle (and Pete of course)--there is nothing she loves more. Jeanne will be the first to tell you that it isn't always about how far or how long you run or walk that matters; it's about how regular exercise will make you look and feel better. She also knows first-hand how the wrong equipment can often lead to an unpleasant, if not injurious, experience. By opening Fleet Feet Tucson, Jeanne is able to do what she does best--teach people of all ages and abilities how to set and reach their fitness goals. Jeanne, a RRCA certified distance coach, has been helping new and experienced runners since the inception of Fleet Feet Tucson. Maybe its time to let her show you how you can reach yours, too!
dan
Dan Garcia, Manager
Dan, a California native with an East Coast education, recently traded in his racing flats for a good pair of Arizona trail shoes. He'll tell you the transition from jamming along the Charles River and busy streets of Boston to the tranquil, yet rugged mountains of Tucson, has been great! Dan is a student of everything running--from training and racing to physiology and equipment. If you ask Dan what he enjoys most, though, he'll tell you it's helping people learn about their own running so they can better achieve their fitness goals.
anne

Anne Stancil, Manager,

Education and Medical Outreach Coordinator

Anne feels like she is cheating somehow by working in a place where she can share her passion for running and triathlon everyday.  She'll tell you it doesn't really feel like work.  In fact, if she didn't work at Fleet Feet, she would probably be here every week anyway just to be around all of the great people.  Originally from Atlanta, Anne and her husband moved to Tucson from Madison, Wisconsin, where she worked for Fleet Feet Sports Madison for five years.  She began as a part time staffer while attending graduate school, but soon left her PhD program to work full time.  And, she is thrilled to continue her work with Fleet Feet here in Tucson.  An avid runner and triathlete, Anne enjoys participating in everything from 5K runs to Ironman triathlons.

keathy

Parents usually inspire their children, but in Kathy’s case it was watching her daughter’s track meets that prompted her to put on running shoes. Kathy, a Tucson native, quickly found she enjoyed the simplicity and freedom running regularly gave her. Over time she’s made great friends through running groups and has pushed herself to new limits. A veteran of several marathons and over a dozen half marathons around the west, Kathy can recommend more that just great gear, but also great places to run.

ianIan Johnson, Staff
A Minnesota native, Ian lived half his life in Washington State where he enjoyed great success as a competitive runner.  Both track and cross country state champion in high school, Ian earned a scholarship to run for WSU where he had a solid collegiate career.  When he wasn't running, Ian was busy earning his BA in linguistics mastering five languages.  He recently moved from St. Paul to Tucson to escape the "brutal upper-Midwest" winters and to restart his competitive running career.  "I was drawn to Fleet Feet because it is a place where every person who comes in the door has value.  It is a fun environment that gives me an opportunity to play a role in helping Tucson's fitness community stay active and healthy."

ginger
If you asked Ginger to describe her life in one word, she would say "busy".  But, she would also tell you she loves it just the way it is.  Between being married to a Tucson firefighter and raising four kids (ages 1-9), Ginger is performing a juggling act every day.  It's no surprise that she savors her down time, which used to mean she buried her nose in a good book.  Then, as fate would have it, Ginger's husband encouraged her to run a 5K race.  She finished second in her age group, immediately fell in love with the sport and the rest is history.  With a life full of kid's activities, PTA meeings and family time, Ginger discovered what many of us have learned; running is "cheap therapy."  Stop by Fleet Feet today and ask for Ginger.  Don't worry, she is never too busy to share her juggling secrets.

zach

Zach Snell, Staff

You might say Zach is the glue that keeps the back room of Fleet Feet Tucson together.  Everything from shipping and receiving to accounting support, Zach does it all.  You’ll also find him on the sales floor helping our other staff members provide superior customer service.  So, what does he do when he’s not at Fleet Feet?  Aside from loving to workout (big surprise there, being the son of owners Pete and Jeanne), Zach is an accomplished musician.  While classically trained on piano, drums are his passion.  Having completed music school in California, Zach is back in town to begin his music career, which includes giving drum lessons.  Like his mother, he’s a natural born teacher.

janJan Stephenson, Staff

After a long career with the railroad – and many moves around the country – Jan and her husband retired to Tucson in 2009 and began their new life.  So, what does she do now that she has all this free time?  Travel and run, of course.  In fact, she’ll tell you that the two go hand-in-hand.  One of Jan’s favorite things to do is explore new cities on foot.  Running just gets her through the towns more quickly.  When she’s not traveling, Jan is working at Fleet Feet and competing in road races of all distances.  We first met her when she joined one of our training groups.  “Fleet Feet training inspired me to be a better runner and it made me want to help other people find joy in running.  Working at Fleet Feet is a dream come true.”

Ryan Soriano, Staff

No stranger to an athletic lifestyle, Ryan was a strength and conditioning coach for Northern Arizona University while pursuing his degree in Exercise Physiology.  Advising athletes on biomechanics and nutrition is second nature to Ryan, and he gets the greatest satisfaction from helping people reach their goals.  In the future, Ryan plans to pursue his Phd. in Physiology or go on to medical school.  But for now, he is so thankful to call Fleet Feet home.  “I wanted to work here the minute I walked in as a customer.  The time they spent with me and the attentiveness to my needs blew me away.  That’s when I knew this was my chance to make a difference in people’s lives.”

Gail Leveque, Staff

A self-described “adult-onset athlete”, Gail was like a lot of women starting out……a little overweight and loaded with self-doubt. Her journey from non-athletic mother of two to elite age group triathlete and multisport coach has given Gail the ability to relate to athletes of all ages and abilities. She has completed more 100 triathlons, duathlons and running races since beginning training at 36, racing in Boston and Kona and a lot of small towns in-between.

Faced with a number of health changes in recent years, Gail has “retired” from competitive racing, but still enjoys the benefits of an active, multisport lifestyle and loves to do an occasional race with friends and family. She is excited to be a member of the Fleet Feet Tucson staff and looks forward to sharing her years of experience with runners and walkers of all levels.
